eReserve2 is located approximately twenty kilometers north of the Village of Irma, in the Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61, Alberta. The facility is located on privately owned and disturbed land directly west of the AltaLink-owned Buffalo Creek 526S Substation. The project utilizes TESLA’s Megapack1, and provides all power into the Alberta Interconnected Electrical System (AIES). The Lithium-Ion Battery storage system is a stand-alone facility that stores electiricty to discharge into the local distribution system upon demand from the Alberta Electric System Operator (“AESO”).
