eReserve5 is approximately three kilometers southeast of the Village of Hughenden, in the Municipal District of Provost No. 52, Alberta. The facility will be located on privately owned and disturbed land east of the AltaLink owned Hughenden 213S Substation. The project utilizes TESLA’s Megapack2, and provides all power into the Alberta Interconnected Electrical System (AIES). The Lithium-Ion Battery storage system is a stand-alone facility that stores electiricty to discharge into the local distribution system upon demand from the Alberta Electric System Operator (“AESO”).
